چکیده

This study aimed to investigate the influence of flash-boiling conditions on liquid propane sprays formed by a multi-hole injector at various injection pressures. The focus was spray structures, which were analysed qualitatively and quantitatively means spray-tip penetration global angle. effect flash boiling evaluated in terms trends observed for subcooled conditions. Propane injected commercial gasoline direct into constant volume vessel filled with nitrogen pressures from 0.1 MPa up 6 MPa. temperature kept constant. evolution high-speed camera Schlieren set-up. obtained results provided information both regimes, above below saturation pressure propane. Based experimental results, an attempt calibrate simulation model has been made. main advantage is that effects formation investigated Moreover, impact changing viscosity surface tension limited, as same level. showed despite very different behaviours leading structures collapse strong boiling, angle similar conditions, boiling. As numerical model, there no single settings simulate flashing properly. not represented well, making set-up more suitable less superheated sprays.

Numerical Simulation of Flash Boiling Effect in a 3-Dimensional Chamber Using CFD Techniques

Flash Boiling atomization is one of the most effective means of generating a fine and narrow-dispersed spray. Unless its complexity its potential has not been fully realized. In This Paper, a three dimensional chamber has been modeled with a straight fuel injector. Effect of Flash Boiling has been investigated by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. A finite volume approach with the ...

Radiolysis of Liquid Propane: non-Radical Reactions

The yields of ionic and excited molecule reactions in y-radiolysis of liquid propane from 35 to -130C have been assessed by isotopic analysis of C3Hs-l-C3Ds+Oz and CH3CD2CH3 -1-02 mixtures. From a comparison with gas phase data the following conclusions are reached for the gas to liquid phase change: (a) the ionic decomposition yield rlecreases by :5 69 %, (b) the net excited molecule decomposi...

Immobilized Liquid Membrane for Propylene- Propane Separation

Separation of propylene-propane mixture using immobilized liquid membrane was investigated. The effect of transmembrane pressure and carrier concentration on membrane separation performance was studied. It was observed that for 30:70 (vol. %) propylene-propane mixture, at pressure of 120kPa and carrier concentration of 20wt. %, a separation factor of 474 was obtained. Keywords—Facilitated Trans...

Radiolysis of Liquid Propane: Radical Reactions

The radical reactions in the liquid phase y-radiolysis of propane have been studied from -130 to 35°C and compared with the gas-phase radiolysis at 35°C. Oxygen was used as a scavenger 10 separate thermal radical yields, and effects· of phase and temperature on the radical yields were assessed. The gas-liquid phase change (a) decreases total decomposition by about 14 %, (b) increMCs disproporti...

The boiling suppression of liquid nitrogen

When He gas is injected from room temperature into boiling liquid N2, boiling is suppressed, leaving liquid surface flat like a mirror. Although the qualitative explanation for this phenomenon is known [Minkoff G J et al. Nature 1957;180(4599):14134.], it has not been studied quantitatively and comprehensively yet. In this report, we made careful simultaneous measurements of temperature and wei...
